Finally learn the classical expression & variations of Bakasana through a method and system that will radically change and upgrade your understanding and approach to this series of postures.

Take Flight: Your Bakasana practice will never be the same again!

This course is for you if you want to...

Learn in-depth what’s required for classical Bakasana and variations (including Parsva Bakasana, Ekapada Bakasana I + II, Urdhva Kukkutasana, Galavasana)

Learn the major differences between classical Bakasana and the form that’s commonly taught in most yoga classes and trainings (spoiler: it’s going to significantly change your practice and asana knowledge)

Learn techniques, methods and principles that probably no-one has shown you before

Discover several instructions you’ve probably been told before that are not helpful (for your practice or teaching)

Learn asanas (including headstand) that are departure points into Bakasana

Learn how to make the posture ‘light’ like a bird (this is the jump in quality)

Understand how classical Bakasana has greater benefit to the body and better compliments the other asana groups

And if you teach Yoga asana, learn how to skilfully and safely assist and adjust your students

“Rory is an incredible teacher. He ensured all students were looked after at the varying level & explained all aspects of the pose clearly. I learnt so much over the last 4 weeks (inversions course), which I’ve been able to include in my every day practice. I can’t wait to come back & learn some more!”
Felicity

Bakasana, in its classical form, is the perfect counter pose to backbends. It's an abdominal practise.

Many schools teach this posture in a different way. There is nothing wrong with the other approach. But classical Bakasana is a very different bird.

In the classical expression, the pelvis and shoulders are the same height, the legs are in external rotation and outside the arms, the abdominals work to create the lift and upward arch in the spine.

Classical Bakasana may look similar to its more commonly practised version but the mechanics and actions are very different. It requires more intelligence, skill and awareness from the body.

In regular yoga classes (and even single session workshops) there is rarely the time or space to sufficiently learn what’s needed to really understand the posture and make your progress.

If you’re ready to go deeper into your asana practice, I look forward to sharing with you.

The method, application and approach you’ll learn has enabled the students and teachers I work with (from many yoga disciplines / systems) to completely transform their practice and understanding. These techniques will do the same for you too.

This course is open to all who have a regular practice and are comfortable in headstand.

If you have any medical conditions, injuries, or are unsure if it’s right for you, please contact us to check suitability.

NB. Places are limited to ensure your maximum learning & experience

I look forward to supporting your practice.

Rory Viggers

Rory's unique teaching style skilfully enables you to uncover a greater depth of awareness and understanding in your practice. Informed by multi-disciplines his approach is intelligent, passionate and insightful. I am a direct student of one of the last living greats, Dona Holleman. The yoga I share has purpose, intention, precision, intelligence and soul. It continues to be informed by all the inspirations in my life, past and current teachers, mentors, trailblazers and most importantly from the precious and essential time in my own daily Sadhana where ideas are incubated, experimented and processed. I teach long term practitioners, yoga teachers, yoga teacher teachers and those new to yoga with my partner Dory Walker.

"Having practised yoga for many years, it was a huge relief to find that your professionalism and approach to teaching was in synch with my own and I felt totally at ease and responsive with being a student under your careful and artful guidance. You both are yoga craftsmen."
Liz, Yoga Teacher

"To be guided along the path whilst connecting together in sangha finding our own way home is vital today. Thank you so much for being such knowledgeable and sincere guides offering what so many don’t”
Sona, Yoga Teacher
