Meditation Course
A 5 week live online course with Dory Walker
Starts Tuesday 18th January 2022
(and runs for 5 Tuesdays)
6.30am - 7.15am in the morning
Would you like to foster greater peace and contentment in your life?
Meditation is an ancient universal system of knowledge. Approach to it varies, but the basic principles remain. This course will present the foundations of meditation from a classical yogic perspective.
Recordings available if you cannot attend live
Meditation asks us to look within, to turn our attention and awareness to the inner world and landscape of our thoughts. For many, life is lived mostly ‘out there’ in a world of sensory impressions and experience. So what do we find when we look within ourselves? The internal plane of the mind can be chaotic, the vacillation of thoughts this way and that, the mind in a constant state of chatter, liking this, not liking that, grasping at things. This continual movement drains our ability to be still, to be present, to simply Be. It clouds our discernment. The idea behind meditation is to gain control over this internal world, to find balance and peace. With meditation (as with all yoga practices) we work on ourselves, the task at hand is us.
During this course you will
Explore your subtle anatomy with meditation techniques from the Tantras.
Invigorate your morning practise or initiate a morning meditation Sadhana.
Systematically explore the chakras, three main Nadis, inner psychic pathways, the micro and macro cosmic spaces you inhabit with breath and mantra.
Each week there will be a LIVE guided practice session. The live classes will be supported by theoretical video content and audio practices.
We look forward to sharing techniques to access the vast peace and happiness that is your true nature and lies within each and every one of us.

Freedom is my motivation. Finding and deepening connection is at the heart of my practise and teaching. Nature is abundant, regenerates and gives. As part of nature I look to my yoga practise and teaching to allow abundant living, joyful giving and regeneration. It’s a journey. The reflection ‘Does a practise allow more space in my body, mind, emotions and energy’ underpins my approach. The passing of time and changing seasons offer a constant mirror so my practise and teaching can be in service of evolving freedom. Asana, pranayama, dharana practices and chanting are my main tools. I am a very proud mama of two incredible daughters.
”Both Rory and Dory are such exceptional teachers; their knowledge, wisdom and understanding (both of the anatomy of yoga and the philosophy) shines through”
